Whether your child is shy, spirited, or somewhere in between, they will find their place here. Our experienced instructors guide students through age-appropriate, reality-based self-defence techniques that build coordination, respect, and resilience. All of this takes place in a supportive and ego-free environment. In our classes, kids do more than learn to defend themselves. They learn to believe in themselves. Book a free trial class today to give your child the confidence and skills that will last a lifetime.
No. You are welcome to come to any class that suits your schedule each week. There is no need to book or commit to particular days.
You’re welcome to stop by and watch anytime. To join in for a free trial, please book a quick call with a coach first (click “Get Started for Free” on this page). This ensures we are the right fit and have space to give your child full attention. We cannot always accommodate walk-ins, but we will do our best!
Your child doesn’t need anything specific for our free orientation class! Just have them wear comfortable clothing they can move freely in, like a regular t-shirt and shorts (or leggings).
If your child loves it and decides to join our program, coaches will happily chat with you about uniforms. They’re optional (not mandatory), and cost around ~$66.
Safety is our top priority. Our coaches work hard to create a safe and supportive training environment and prioritize a gym culture of safe and controlled training.
That said, martial arts is a combat sport and, while we do everything possible to prevent injuries, occasional bumps and bruises can happen. If your child has an existing injury, please let your coach know so we can adjust their training accordingly.
No. You can pause or cancel anytime with just 7 days’ notice. No long-term commitment required.
Any comfortable t-shirt and shorts (or leggings) are perfect. Please wear shoes or thongs until you are on the mats and bring a water bottle. Otherwise, no other special gear or equipment is needed.
Besides regular training fees, the only additional costs are optional uniforms (approximately $66) and belt promotions (gradings). Uniforms are not required — students are welcome to train in regular clothes — and we recommend attending a few classes first to ensure your child enjoys it before purchasing a Gi. Belt gradings are merit-based, and happen when we see your child is ready for their grading. Gradings involve a small fee. As a registered club of the Australian Jiu-Jitsu Association, your annual association membership is included complimentary with enrollment.
Our minimum starting age is 4.5 years old. We find that some children who have only just reached 4.5, may not be quite ready for the group training environment yet.
If that is the case, we will let you know politely and you are very welcome to bring your child back to try again after a few months.
